So how you did mark Holocaust Memorial Day?

Posted by Guessedworker on Monday, 29 January 2007 01:00.

Not with much, in my case.  I passed up the opportunity to read and inwardly digest all the usual fayre and the usual Blair.  But I did stop to read news of the latest victim of the Boer genocide: not an Afrikaner farmer this time but the well-known historian and hotelier David Rattray.

His killing is also reported by the Telegraph.  But it is the thread to that first link - the Mail on Sunday article - that caught my attention.  As a sample of opinion it is small.  But it contains the unmistakable melancholy of one who has had all his foolish illusions chased out of the door and the old, hard lessons hammered home at the highest of costs - loss of sovereignty, loss of homeland, loss of life:-

Unfortunately this is our way of life in South Africa now - the politicians are not concerned that over 2000 farmers have been murdered, nor does 20 to 30,000 murders a year phase them at all - Mbeki and our Police Commissioner Selebi have stated publicly that the situation is ‘nothing to fuss about’ and our Minister of Safety and Security has publicly stated that rather than whinge we should ‘leave the country’.

- R.Mcgregor, JHB, South Africa

Sadly his murder is one of many taking place here as violent crime in South Africa spirals out of control. We all live in fear of such attacks and yet President Mbeki stated last week that “crime is not out of control”.

- Jean Collen, Johannesburg, South Africa

This poor man is but one of hundreds who have been murdered in recent years in SA. It’s strange how it rarely comes to the attention if the British press.

- Malcolm, Herne Hill London

We lived in South Africa for nearly 30 years and love the country but returned to the UK when our eldest son narrowly escaped being murdered for his motor car. Having been back in the UK now for nearly 10 years we feel our lives are just as much at risk here. Sad to say the whole world has become a very violent place.

- Maeve Hopkins, Wales

That’s South Africa for you. It only gets worse, will it ever get better? No not with the government we have there. A shame though, hence alot of South Africans come to the UK for safety.

- Anite, Herts - Ex South African

Having experience over many years of life in south africa, I find it so saddening that those who help and respect black Africans are so often caught up in the terrible climate of killings - usually for money and goods, but sometimes just for revenge.

- Barbara, London, UK

This is just another senseless murder to add to our appalling crime statistics, and our government tells us that crime isn’t out of control!

- Eddie Keys, Johannesburg, South Africa

One is past being surprised that “men” invade white homes in rainbow-land and take their murderous, their rapine revenge ... along with whatever useless gewgaws they can steal.  One is past being surprised because far outside SA, despite the liberal Establishment’s best obfuscatory efforts, we too have had to grow accustomed to black violence.  The constant drip-feed of murder reports has taught us to be shrewd judges of the mental weakness and fatal aggressivity that mark the black gang killer, the wildly violent burglar, the knife-frenzied mugger.  Even when racial details of the killers are left mysteriously vague we are very rarely wrong.

In broader terms, the post-Empire generations of Englishmen have been forced to re-learn what their fathers knew well.  It is the same lesson that the Boers of Apartheid knew well, and that the men of the old Confederacy knew well.  The wilful, utopian forgetting of it has cost countless white lives.  But these are our dead, and they are too precious, it seems to me, to be remembered on only one day a year.

Just a personal word of “thanks” to all the vectorists out there

Posted by James Bowery on Saturday, 27 January 2007 20:59.

Although a write-up as recently as January 7, 2007 on enterobacter cloacae indicates that:

Although community-acquired infections are occasionally observed, nosocomial infections are, by far, the most frequent.

the (hiking/biking enthusiast and quite healthy) best friend of my fiancé called last night to express her regrets that she couldn’t help with preparations and may be unable to attend our upcoming wedding due to the fact that she may have to be hospitalized with a community acquired multi-drug resistant strain of enterobacter cloacae.  No she hasn’t been in the hospital, nor in any medical facility, nor is she in contact with any medical personnel, so this notnosocomial”.

I wish I could convey my “thanks” to all the vectorists more personally but this blog entry must do…. for now…

PS: The most likely source of the bacteria was a California poultry farm.

Smart fraction ... less smart fraction ... dumb fraction

La Griffe could have told them.  So, doubtless, could messers Rushton and Jensen.

From the Independent:-

White students do ‘better’

Black and Chinese students are less likely to get top university degrees than their white contemporaries, a government report has found.

The study suggested that ethnic minority undergraduates faced “a considerable cost” as a result because students who get first-class degrees increasingly command higher salaries.

... The gap was widest for black Caribbean, black African and Chinese students.  The analysis took account of factors such as gender, prior academic performance, subject studied and deprivation levels.

The study sample was huge: 65,000.  One would, of course, expect that as a fraction of their respective populations Chinese participation in higher education would surpass whites.  But one would also expect that Gauss would get ‘em in the end, and the best degrees will go where the right-hand curve is longest.

However, this being a government study I doubt that Jews were eliminated from the “white” contingent.  Also, South Asians weren’t mentioned at all - perhaps because on average Pakistani students could be expected to weight SA results downward, and the distribution was, therefore, unremarkably general.

I must admit to being puzzled by the report’s finding that women out-perform men, though.  That is calling Gauss a thorough-going liar, so what’s at work here?

Britishness, identity and the liberal interpretation of Man

Posted by Guessedworker on Thursday, 25 January 2007 22:26.

There has been a lot of Establishment hand-ringing of late over the waning sense of Britishness among the natives of these islands.  Specifically, the hand-wringing is about the uncomfortable likelihood that by being true to themselves the natives will leave the Third World of Bradford, Leicester, Peckham and Hounslow high and dry, together with their newly minted British identities.  The future of the great coerced experiment of the Multicult in England, particularly, is riding on whether the pols can keep us from understanding our own distinctiveness.  They, however, can only approach the issue in one way, which is also the wrong way ... as a crisis of that fungible commodity, “identity”:-

White children living in mixed-race communities feel as marginalised and uncertain of their British identity as ethnic minorities, a controversial government report has found.

A review of citizenship lessons in schools by Sir Keith Ajegbo, a Home Office adviser, concludes that white children are suffering “labelling and discrimination” that is severely compromising their idea of being British.

His review will suggest that while most people assume issues about diversity or “cultural and community cohesion” centred on the black or Asian communities, just as much thought and resources need to be put into providing diversity education to white pupils.

To demonstrate that his sudden concern for English children is indeed motivated by something other than compassion, the half-caste Mr Ajegbo informs us:-

“It makes no sense in our report to focus on minority ethnic pupils without trying to address and understand the issues for white pupils.  It is these white pupils whose attitudes are overwhelmingly important in creating community cohesion.  Nor is there any advantage in creating confidence in minority ethnic pupils if it leaves white pupils feeling disenfranchised and resentful.”

But why would they not feel “disenfranched and resentful”?  Has it not occurred to Mr Ajegbo that, cast as sinners, they are actually the sinned against?  As immigration’s victims they have nothing to gain from “creating community cohesion”.  The only thing that is worse than a multiculturalism that doesn’t work is, as they say, one that does.

I’ve got one that can SEE: Jimmy Carter

Posted by James Bowery on Thursday, 25 January 2007 18:25.

One of my favorite moments in cinema history is during John Carpenter’s suppressed movie “They Live” when the protagonist puts on the “Hoffman lens” he found, allowing him to see which of the populus are aliens.

As he starts realizing there are aliens walking among us, an ugly short woman dressed in fine furs and jewels scowls into a watch radio: “I’ve got one that can SEE!” before pushing a button and disappearing in a flash.

It’s one of my favorite moments in modern myth because it is so frequently applicable.  For example, let’s take Jimmy Carter’s recent defense of Palestinians.  This has resulted in suspicions that he can SEE and a full investigation of any history of behavior on Carter’s part that may support the theory he was harboring a working pair of eyes while pretending to be a legitimate head of state:

When you tie this in with what he says about the Jewish lobby, it just exposes where his heart really lies.”...“He’s an extremely vain and an extremely stubborn man,” Mr. Sher said. “He has hostility not only toward Israel, but toward American Jews and the pro-Israel community. The venom is starting to come out. Jimmy Carter once told us that he has lust in his heart. We all have to wonder what else is lurking in there?”

SA Resistant TB Epidemic: Critical Turning Point for Humanity vs Vectorism?

Posted by James Bowery on Tuesday, 23 January 2007 09:31.

Extreme drug resistant TB or XDR-TB is forcing South Africa to do more than make up propaganda portraying white male heterosexuals as perpetrators of the crimes committed by black males there.  Unlike containing the AIDS epidemic, which is as impossible as containing the sexual urges of the black male population of Africa, the carriers of XDR-TB are being “forceably detained” in quarantine.  And, right on cue, this is creating an outcry about “human rights violations” among the vectorists who are not only morally outraged by anything that might impede the spread of the most virulent genetic systems in existence at any point in time, but who have the “moral high ground” among the world’s would-be “elites” who are, themselves, infectious diseases of sorts.

The beauty is that no one, not even the world’s worst hypocritical Davos Man, is safe from this epidemic since the government requires you to accept into your physical environment people from around the world, lest you be accused of the moral equivalent of child molestation:  racist, nativist, xenophobic, prejudiced bigotry at “the Other” due to your paranoid small minded crypto-fascist, etc. blah de woof woof.  In other words, the elites in their walled compounds might be somewhat protected from this for a while, but if they so much as go to the opera to be seen by other “elites” they’ll be taking their lives into their hands.

Was this really the BBC absolving Enoch?

Posted by Guessedworker on Tuesday, 23 January 2007 00:28.

A half-hour BBC Radio 4 documentary was aired this evening with the title, “The Woman Who Never Was?”.  The article about it on the BBC’s website sets the scene:

Enoch Powell’s infamous ‘rivers of blood’ speech at a Conservative Party meeting in Birmingham in 1968 marked both the end of his chances of holding ministerial office and the birth of an enduring mystery.

In that speech he quoted a letter which referred to the plight of an unnamed woman pensioner in his Wolverhampton constituency whose life had, he claimed, been ruined by immigration.

This, according to Powell, was her story: “She worked hard and did well, paid off her mortgage and began to put something by for her old age. Then the immigrants moved in. With growing fear, she saw one house after another taken over.”

“She is becoming afraid to go out, windows are broken. She finds excreta pushed through her letterbox. When she goes out to the shops she is followed by children, charming wide-grinning piccaninnies.”

‘Media circus’

The next day, Tory leader Edward Heath sacked Powell from his shadow cabinet as the debate over his speech and arguments over immigration reached boiling point.

The country demanded to know who this woman was but Powell repeatedly refused to say.
